Svart katt releases new third album

Svart katt portrays a bygone community and a Sweden that is no more on the new album “Tills ingen länger minns” which is released today, August 22nd. The album is produced by Konie (Viagra Boys, Les Big Byrd, Nifelheim) who has let the characteristically melancholy punk songs control their own sound.

From a recurring “you and I”, Svart katt puts words to the time that has passed about a simpler existence where everything might actually be about a bygone community. At the front of the barricade, with the fist in the air in a desperate attempt to make the memories stay.

On the new album, the band has developed their sound and thrown in some extra keyboards, distorted synths, contrasted with a clarinet – but what impresses most is how they have settled into their themes. Each song is a postcard from decades-old friendships or is it just a few months ago? It is diffuse but at the same time razor-sharp in a way that no other band in Sweden is able to write rock music.

In addition, it sounds fantastic: distinct, powerful and live.

The overall theme of the album was not planned but ended up somewhere along these lines:
“Everything that lives is perishable. Everything can and will end at any time, maybe sooner than we think. The only thing we have is love and each other. Right now.”

It has never hurt so much to listen to Svart katt as on “Tills ingen länger minns”, they have never been so forward-leaning and never better.
