Remote Chance

Tor Rauden Källstigen, one half of the now ended Grammy-nominated minimal exquisite neo tarnce project Boeoes Kaelstigen, now makes desolate instrumental electronic acid under the name Remote Chance. The first single is called “Maizière” and is taken from an upcoming EP named “Perpetual Peace”.

Remote Chance first appeared on the remix EP that Agitator released shortly before their debut album. But now the first original song from this gently lulling electronic project is released. The song has been named “Maizière” and is the first taste from an upcoming EP, full of ambient, dub and low-melt acid.

At first nothing happens. Then, nothing again. And then suddenly, all at once. What does spring sound like when eternal peace begins? “Maizière’s” synths operate hard, driving and distate – with an infectious energy directed forward.

Remote Chance makes desolate acid house for a messy world. The inspiration is taken from the underground democracy movements of the 80s in Eastern Europe, a dark time with currents of low-key optimism. A condition worth revisiting in a time like this. The contemporary 303 has been used in many layers. The pace is rarely over 100 bpm as endurance is more important than getting to the finish line quickly.
