LOW-RES – Give Me Something For The Soul
Swedish duo LOW-RES are no strangers to grim, almost decadent darkness. On “Give Me Something For The Soul”, the second single from their upcoming album “Happiness”, to be released on October 4, you can still hear their explosive mix of krautrock, indie rock, and psychedelia. But we also glimpse a new dimension as they take a step in two different directions.

On “Give Me Something For The Sou”l darker lyrics meet slightly brighter, clearer and almost uplifting melodies. It’s a delicate balance between two opposing poles, with the duo simultaneously singing about the complex reality of codependency and the experience of living with someone who abuses and refuses to see the truth of the situation.
“It depicts the feeling of being at rock bottom, of wanting to give up, and the realization that the only way out is to leave and move on.” say Patrick Alvarsson and Simon Appel, who make up the duo.
The single, which is their most hook-oriented song to date, follows the introspective song “Wish”, released in May, and is part of their upcoming third album, Happiness, which will be released on October 4.
LOW-RES has previously been picked up by BBC Radio 6 and praised by the likes of Swedish magazine GAFFA who described their debut album as “oceans of creativity pumping out of the speakers, with each song carrying its own story and sound.”. Just like the upcoming album, Give Me Something For The Soul was produced by the band and Daniel ”Fagge” Fagerström (Viagra Boys, Baba Stiltz, Kite) and will be released on June 14 by Adrian Recordings.
