On ”RAFT” you can hear production where soft R&B is contrasted with elements of jungle and garage. Inspiration has been taken from 90s Disney movies, Peter Gabriel and nature reserves in Central America. The lyrics speak of adaptation and survival, of rising and striving towards the light.
“Raft is an episode from the story RECOUPIA that is about gathering strength and moving forward. To me, building a raft is a symbol of acting based on hope for the future and being prepared to take chances and invest,” says MANX.
In 2022, MANX released three transcendent singles, all released digitally and on CD slim case with mixtape-like bonus material. On August 25th came the fourth single titled ”ONSEN” announcing the debut album ”RECOUPIA” which lands on October 27th.
The single ”ONSEN” an anthem to the carefree who doesn’t underestimate their “self care” and a tribute to laziness, according to MANX’s own words, got a well-deserved first place on K103 Gothenburg’s radio rotation and was selected for both Nöjesguiden’s Favorites and Danish Bands of Tomorrow’s Nordic Hits.
