Earlier this year, LOW-RES delivered the introspective track ”Wish” and the subsequent “Give Me Something For The Soul”, their most pop-oriented release to date. ”Goodbye” sits tonally right between those two and is a hypnotic journey into the experience of emotionally detaching from the past and embracing renewal. The chorus’s echoing line, ”Baby, you can’t hold me back, I’m already gone,” captures this while also revealing an underlying tone of darkness.
“With the song Goodbye, the human needs for love are highlighted, whether it be love of another person or another substance.” say Patrick Alvarsson and Simon Appel, who make up the duo.The upcoming album ”Happiness” will be released on October 4th and is, in terms of sound, the band’s most melodic one yet. However, just like on the single, there is a darkness lingering behind the distorted guitars, shaped by personal experiences of abuse and domestic violence.
LOW-RES has previously been picked up by BBC Radio 6 and praised by the likes of Swedish magazine GAFFA who described their debut album as “oceans of creativity pumping out of the speakers, with each song carrying its own story and sound.”. Just like the upcoming album, Goodbye was produced by the band and Daniel ”Fagge” Fagerström (Viagra Boys, Baba Stiltz, Kite).
